In 1993, Minnesota Hockey fans were unwillingly ripped of their beloved NHL North Stars as they headed down south to Dallas. The following several years left an empty space in the hearts of Minnesotans until...June 25th, 1997 came with a very merry announcement. The anticipation before the MN Wild started playing in their 2000 inaugural season was thick in the air. The excitement to have another NHL team back in The State of Hockey was near Christmas-like. Or at least that's our best hypothesis on the team's official colors. Merry indeed.

Minnesota lives and breaths the game of hockey, rivaled only by the friendly neighbors to the north. The youth hockey population ranks #1 in the United States with over 54,000 registered athletes under the age of 18.
